ThinkingDepression Programs

Our day programs for depression offer therapy through group sessions to equip participants with the tools they need to create more stability in their lives.

Facilitated by experienced psychologists, with support from other allied therapists, patients learn to build resilience and focus on individual strengths.

Our depression day programs are suitable for people who do not need inpatient treatment, but require more intensive care than basic counselling.

Two-Week Program

Two weeks, full days, group therapy

This program assists participants in managing their depression. It is a closed group, meaning a set of participants will remain in the group for the entirety of the program.

The group focuses on depression as a multi-causal emotional disorder with infl uences from genetic vulnerability, early childhood attachment, learned responses from past incidents, and certain adult experiences.
Group participants learn to manage their depression, rather than relying wholly on treating symptoms with medication. They will gain an understanding of the underlying causes of their depression and learn strategies from a range of psychological approaches.

This group is run every six weeks.

Daily Group

Offered daily, three-hour sessions, group therapy

Participants can attend this group as often as needed. The sessions are ideal for those who have not yet attended a therapy program, do not intend to join a two-week program or have recently been discharged from hospital and need ongoing support.

The group equips participants with practical strategies to manage their anxiety, while gaining support in a non-threatening environment.

Participants are introduced to basic cognitive skills, emotional regulation and psycho-education regarding depression and anxiety.

Daily Group – Post Two-Week Program

Offered daily, three-hour sessions, group therapy

These sessions are ideal for patients who have completed an intensive therapy program or who have extensive therapy experience from group sessions and are seeking to gain ongoing understanding of their emotional wellbeing. Participants explore issues that affect them in managing their depression and anxiety on a day-to-day basis.
